Butter London Haul & Halo Hues update

So today I have for you the other half of my nail mail... a mini butter london haul.  These are my first butter london polishes so I was super excited to get them.  I got a great deal on them, coterie.com had a deal when they launched their site you got to pick 3 colors from a list of 6 and 1 top coat from a list of 2 (matte or quick dry) all for 36 bucks but for signing up you got a 25 dollar credit and free shipping...so it eneded up only being 11 bucks, how could I pass that up.

I wanted to pick colors that were more for the fall/winter season so this is what I got.

Wallis~ a olive greenish gold almost metallic very strong shimmer

West End Wonderland~ sparkley gold and copper glitter kinda looks like a holo in the bottle it shines so much wonderful for the holidays

All Hail the Queen~ in the bottle it looks like a neutral nude with tones of pink and it has a very fine holo glitter but on the nail it looks like a light fudge brown and the holo shines in the sun.

This is the only color I swatched so far and I really liked it more than I thought I would.  No matter how many pics I took I couldn't capture the holo but its there I promise!!

Now  I have an update on the Color Club Halo Hues collection for you.  The new release date for this collection has been set for Oct 4th on the color club web site.  I don't know when local retailers will start carrying them but I have decided not to wait, I will be making my purchase online as soon as they launch.  I have a feeling these babies are gonna go quick.

Till next time~ xoxox

layla hologram effect

Hello fellow nail polish junkies, today I have a review of the layla hologram effect nail polishes for you.  Now when I first heard of these (and saw them) I knew I had to make them mine, but at 15 bucks a pop I figured I would never get the chance.  I try not to spend more than 8 bucks a bottle on polish.  But about 2 months a go I was able to get my hands on a bottle for 5 bucks.  sneakpeeq.com had them and with the website discount plus the 10 off for signing up and free shipping I felt like I made a great buy.  My mother-n-law and husband even signed up too and let me use their accounts so I could get 2 more bottles...how awesome are they right!!  So the colors I picked up are
OCEAN RUSH~ bright blue

RED TABOO~ more of a bright pink

MERCURY TWILIGHT~ silver

Now the only color I got a chance to try was the Mercury Twilight and I have to say after all the hype I was kinda dissapointed.  For some reason I thought the bottle would be bigger than this but I was over that pretty quick.  The holo didn't look as strong as I thought it would in the bottle but once it was on the nail it was AWESOME!  However application was a bit tricky, I couldn't  get full coverage and the formula is very thin. I think I ended up with 4 coats.  I did use the buffer/file that they sent with the polish you are supposed to use one side then the other before applying.

It had a wonderful strong holo indoors and out and I loved it and thought that all the trouble with the application was worth it. UNTIL I washed some dishes and then it peeled and chipped off.

I had only had it on for about half the day before I did the dishes and my hands weren't in the water long because it was only a few dishes so I was very disappointed when this happened.  I was also thankful I got 3 bottles for the price of what I would have paid for one, because if I would have paid full price I would have been pissed.  It wouldn't have bothered me if I would have gotten a whole day maybe two before it started to  chip but to not even get a whole days worth out of it...if you haven't purchased this polish I would ask you to strongly consider if it is going to be worth your while before you do, how often do you get your hands wet in a day things like that.  This would be a polish I would only use if I needed it for a special occasion since it only lasts a few hours.

Till the next time

Glitter Goblin

So if you read my last post you saw that I talked a little bit about China Glaze Glitter Goblin, well now that  I have actually done a mani with it...OMG...the holo glitter is awesome. Very strong holo  I didn't have to go out into the sun to see it bling blinging!! I think it would look amazing layered over black for a Halloween mani.  So I took a some pics and even did a short video of my hand in motion so you could see the holo sparkle, i just felt like the pictures didn't do it justice so on to the pics and video scroll below.

music is too afraid to love you by the black keys
i had to put something in the video to cover up my dog mack whining in the back ground

hope you all enjoyed see ya next time, which should be soon because my nail mail came in!!

Glitter Goblin should be releasing in October as part of the China Glaze wicked collection

Im Baccckkkk

So I haven't made a blog post in a long while because my camera broke on me and I finally got me a new one.  I was very happy when it came in the mail yesterday...my inner nail polish junkie was jumping up and down screaming "i got my camera, i can blog now"!!  This camera takes waayyy better pics then my other one did. 18 mega pixels to drool over!!!

Enough of that now on to the nail polish...I have been gone for a while so I will be doing my best to catch up.
In the mean time I was at Sallys today and picked up a few things that Im going to share with you.

Finger paints are BOGO FREE till the end of the month, so I picked up 2 base coats and 2 colors from the new fall collection.

First up is Fall of Surprises~ a coppery glitter of different sizes big and small...and it BLINGS BABY!! I couldn't take my eyes off my nail when I swatched it at the store! It is a bit thick but I think because of that you don't have to apply a ton of coats to get full coverage.

Next up is Plum Startled~ a pretty plumly purple,it has a beautiful shimmer, it reminds me of a purple version of OPI DS magic.  This one is a bit thin, but 2 coats would do it!

Next I have 2 colors from the China Glaze Wicked collection coming soon for this Halloween!  I had to ask the Sally's lady ( I don't know her name but she is so awesome, she always looks in the back for me when I am looking for the new collections) if she had them on the off chance that they came in already....and GUESS WHAT....they did!!  Now this collection comes in a 4 bottle set that includes ghoulish glow ~yes it glows in the dark (which they had) but I only liked one color from the set so I didn't get it.

First up I have Glitter Goblin~ a clear base with small dark orange and silvery holo glitter hexes.  I haven't swatched it yet but it looks like a wonderful fall color in the bottle plus I can't pass up a holo glitter!!!

Last I have Make a Spectacle~ a 2 size iridescent hex glitter with some fine flakes, some people would be tempted to pass on this one because it kinda reminds you of luxe and lush from the hunger games collection, But I picked it up because I thought it would look awesome layered over many different colors!  I would love to matte it over navy blue!

Stay tuned for more posts. I have some nail mail coming soon. I recently placed and order for some butter londons 4 bottles for 11 bucks yeah you read that right!!!!  I also got 3 bottles of Layla holos for 15 bucks!!
Cant wait to swatch those and post them for you.
Hope you enjoyed, till next time xoxox
