layla hologram effect

Hello fellow nail polish junkies, today I have a review of the layla hologram effect nail polishes for you.  Now when I first heard of these (and saw them) I knew I had to make them mine, but at 15 bucks a pop I figured I would never get the chance.  I try not to spend more than 8 bucks a bottle on polish.  But about 2 months a go I was able to get my hands on a bottle for 5 bucks.  sneakpeeq.com had them and with the website discount plus the 10 off for signing up and free shipping I felt like I made a great buy.  My mother-n-law and husband even signed up too and let me use their accounts so I could get 2 more bottles...how awesome are they right!!  So the colors I picked up are
OCEAN RUSH~ bright blue

RED TABOO~ more of a bright pink

MERCURY TWILIGHT~ silver

Now the only color I got a chance to try was the Mercury Twilight and I have to say after all the hype I was kinda dissapointed.  For some reason I thought the bottle would be bigger than this but I was over that pretty quick.  The holo didn't look as strong as I thought it would in the bottle but once it was on the nail it was AWESOME!  However application was a bit tricky, I couldn't  get full coverage and the formula is very thin. I think I ended up with 4 coats.  I did use the buffer/file that they sent with the polish you are supposed to use one side then the other before applying.

It had a wonderful strong holo indoors and out and I loved it and thought that all the trouble with the application was worth it. UNTIL I washed some dishes and then it peeled and chipped off.

I had only had it on for about half the day before I did the dishes and my hands weren't in the water long because it was only a few dishes so I was very disappointed when this happened.  I was also thankful I got 3 bottles for the price of what I would have paid for one, because if I would have paid full price I would have been pissed.  It wouldn't have bothered me if I would have gotten a whole day maybe two before it started to  chip but to not even get a whole days worth out of it...if you haven't purchased this polish I would ask you to strongly consider if it is going to be worth your while before you do, how often do you get your hands wet in a day things like that.  This would be a polish I would only use if I needed it for a special occasion since it only lasts a few hours.

Till the next time
